PJHS Spring Musical, Guys & Dolls

March 27, 2017 - Port Jervis, NY - The Drama Club of Port Jervis High School presents the spring musical, Guys and Dolls, March 30 - April 2, in the Auditorium of the high school.  Tickets for all shows are $10.00 for adults, $8.00 for students and seniors.  Details on the show HERE>

The Memory Project at PJHS The Memory Project at PJHS

March 27, 2017 - Port Jervis, NY - UPDATE - Students in Ms. Horst’s Drawing 1 Class participated in a project that has left memories for a lifetime.  The assignment is called “The Memory Project”.  According to their website, “The Memory Project” is a unique initiative in which art students create portraits for children and teens around the world who have been neglected, orphaned, or disadvantaged.  MORE>

Three New Port Jervis Grads

March 24, 2017, Port Jervis, NY - The Port Jervis City School District Board of Education recognized three recent graduates at the March 21st meeting. Samantha Lane and Courtney Long earned their Port Jervis High School diplomas this past January. Michael Firth is the first Port Jervis student to earn his equivalency certification through the TASC program. TASC stands for "Test Assessing Secondary Completion", replacing what was once called the GED. Congratulations to all three students on their accomplishments.

Port Sports Announce Scholar Athletes

March 20, 2017 - Port Jervis, NY - The Girls Varsity Basketball Team qualified for the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Team Scholar Athlete Awards for the winter season.  In addition, 14 other athletes earned individual academic recgonition as winter sports scholar athletes.  Complete story HERE>

PJHS & ASK Team up for Art and Seuss

March 2017 PJHS, Port Jervis, NY - Students from Mr. Hartmann's A.S.K. Elementary School 5th grade visited the Port Jervis High School Painting IV class to do a joint project for Dr. Seuss Week.  High school art students created a large scale drawing of a "mystery" Suess character then cut the drawing into pieces to form a puzzle for the elementary students to solve. The elementary students painted in each piece according to a color code and then pieced together the drawing to discover the characters identity. ASK & PJHS Enjoy Read Across America Week

Feb 27, 2017 - Port Jervis, NY - Students from Elizabeth Maloney's Port Jervis High School art classes painted beautiful Dr. Seuss themed pictures for the students of A.S.K. to enjoy during their Read Across America week. The paintings and drawings will be displayed throughout the hallways for all of the students to enjoy!

Port Honors "Lu"

December 21, 2016 – Port Jervis, NY – The Port Jervis High School Athletic Department unveiled a new gymnasium scorer’s table in a ceremony prior to the boys basketball game vs Fallburg last evening.  The table was named in honor of the late Luann McCarthy.  McCarthy was a physical education teacher, longtime coach, and official score keeper at Port Jervis High School.  McCarthy passed away last year after a long battle with cancer.  Details HERE>

Endowment creates Outdoor Learning Center

September 6, 2016, PJHS, Port Jervis, NY The Dr. Lawrence Taylor Wildlife Learning Sanctuary Grand Opening was held after school, Friday, September 6th.  Staff and students who volunteered to help assemble the sanctuary were on hand for the ribbon cutting and release of fish into the koi pond.  This project was made possible by the generous financial efforts of Dr. Taylor(PJHS Class of '56, HOF 2015).  Complete news story HERE>
